Down Home Radio Is A Hardcore, Paleo-acoustic, Hardcore Folk Music Show. In the summer of 2006, DHR was established. We believe it is the first internet-based show of its type.
Eli Smith (host/producer) is a folk music banjo player, writer, researcher, and promoter based in Brooklyn, New York. Eli is a Smithsonian Folkways recording artist who organizes the Brooklyn Folk Festival in the spring and the Washington Square Park Folk Festival in the fall. He’s been heard on WBAI, WNYC, and WKCR in New York, as well as KPFA, KPFK, and KUCI in California. Eli has participated in folk music panels and conversations.
